“Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.”
Sancho’s mommy Angelina is my youngest sister and I’ll tell you my favorite story about the three of us today.⠀
We lived in this cute house next to a beautiful tree-lined road. It was a warm summer day and we girls were alone at home. I was a teenager and Angelina and Christina were about 7 and 9 years old. The Pokemon Era in Germany had just begun and my sisters were driving everyone nuts with learning 100 monsters by hard instead of learning English vocabulary.
So on this beautiful summer day I suddenly heard screams ‘That’s my Pokemon card! You stole it! Give it back!’ ‘No I found it on the floor!’ ‘I lost it! Angelina, give it back or I’ll kill you!’ It completely escalated. So I screamed at Angelina ‘RUUUUUUN!’ So Angelina started running to that tree-lined road – with the stolen Pokemon card in her hand! Christina was chasing her more angry than I’d ever seen her. ‘I’m gonna kill youuuu! It’s my caaaard!’ I was chasing Christina. ‘You’re not gonna kill our sister! Not for a stoopid Pokemon caaaaaard!’ So there we were running like idiots across that tree-lined road of our childhood. I caught Christina and yelled at Angelina ‘You run back to the house and lock yourself in the bathroom until mom’s home!’
So our mom came home to three girls. One hiding in the bathroom. One yelling infront of that bathroom. One far away from that bathroom.
Those Pokemon cards were taken away from them and I thought there could not ever come something worse to our family than these jigglypuffs – until one day this band sung its way into our home. Tokyo Hotel. Never heard of them? Lucky you. They turned my sisters into emo crows!
This summer day though and a million more moments of sisterhood turned Angelina into a beautiful and strong woman, who saved a dog’s life. Sancho’s life.
